SUBANG, 12 SEPTEMBER 2024 – The highly anticipated fourth edition of the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS 2024) took off with great success today at Skypark RAC, Selangor. Officiated by Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, Raja Muda Selangor, the event promises to be a gamechanger for the business and general aviation sectors across the region.

Organised by Invest Selangor Berhad and hosted by the Selangor state government, SAS 2024 is themed “The One & Only Business & General Aviation Show in the Region,” reflecting its focus on promoting business aviation, general aviation, and cutting-edge drone technologies. The show offers local companies a prestigious platform to showcase their innovations, while also attracting international investors, creating exciting new opportunities for growth and partnerships.

This year’s edition is expected to welcome 25,000 visitors from over 45 countries, showcasing 50 types of aircraft on static display, including standout models like the Diamond aircraft, Falcon 8X, and Piaggio Avanti. With a projected RM1.3 billion in potential transaction value, the aviation show sets a new benchmark in the industry.

SAS 2024 boasts 128 booths, representing 88 companies from 7 countries, including Singapore, China, the United Kingdom, France, India, Australia, and Cambodia. Highprofile participants include Textron Aviation, Dassault Aviation, Signum Aviation, and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, among others.

Key highlights of the event include exhibitions, static aircraft displays, drone demonstrations, and networking opportunities. Thought-provoking talks and forums will cover hot topics like sustainability, supply chain management, search and rescue operations, AI, and space exploration, with speakers hailing from countries like the USA, UK, Indonesia, and Singapore.

The event will also feature the 2nd edition of its career fair, connecting job seekers with over 38 aerospace and aviation companies, such as National Aerospace & Defence Industries Sdn Bhd, UMW Aerospace, Bombardier, and Skyways Technics Asia. The partnership with PERKESO aims to bridge talent and industry in this fastgrowing sector.

The opening ceremony of SAS 2024 also witnessed significant moments, including document exchanges between Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI Selangor) and key players like Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB)/ Global Turbine Asia (GTA), Qube Nexus, Vencast, Batik Air and Aerospace Malaysia Innovation Centre (AMIC)/ Apeiron to drive aerospace development in the region.

The Women in Aviation Awards to be organised later this evening, will celebrate the achievements of women in the aviation industry. A collaboration between Women in Aviation Asia (WiAA), Business Aviation and General Aviation Malaysia (BAGAM), and Women@MAG (Malaysia Aviation Group), the awards will highlight the incredible contributions of women in shaping the aviation landscape.

We are seriously looking to attract investments, promote research and development, and foster collaboration with international and local industry leaders” said YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor (Chief Minister of Selangor) in his speech during the opening ceremony of SAS 2024.

YB Ng Sze Han, State Executive Councillor for Investment, Trade, and Mobility, emphasized, “Selangor, as home to 67% of Malaysia’s aerospace economy, is the heart of this exciting expansion. We are committed to building a comprehensive aerospace ecosystem that ensures ease of doing business for our investors.”

For information on visiting SAS 2024, visitors are advised to plan their travel to the venue ahead of time, as parking is not available on-site. Instead, parking is provided at Stadium Shah Alam located in front of City Karting (Shah Alam International Go Kart Circuit). Once parked, visitors should follow the signs to the designated Waiting Zone Area, where a dedicated shuttle bus service will transport visitors from Stadium Shah Alam to the SkyPark RAC guardhouse. Shuttle buses will run every 15 minutes starting at 8.00am, with the final shuttle bus making its last return trip to Stadium Shah Alam at 7.30pm.
