SHAH ALAM, 9 DECEMBER 2021 – The inaugural Selangor Aviation Show 2021 (SAS2021) which was held from 25th to 27th of November touched its peak as a success beyond expectations, having achieved almost5,000 visitors target over the three-day event.The three-day show, held across 2,663.99 sqm saw a crowd of 4,987.

This inaugural event managed to assemble a total of 43 exhibitors from 7 countries representing the world’s best of aerospace and aviation industries, displaying their exhibits either on the tarmac or in the exhibition booth at the venue. The total number of static aircraft displayed was 18 and among the prominent static aircraft exhibits were the E195-E2 regional commercial jet from Embraer,T625 GÖKBEY from TurkishAerospace,Piaggio P-180 Avanti EVO from Piaggio Aerospace, Airbus Helicopters AS350 Écureuil and others.

13Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) on various aerospace industry sub-sector collaborations were signed during SAS2021.These were: –

The agreementssigned cover various collaborations such as vocational workforce development joint venture for the aerospace industry, development of Selangor Drone Center of Excellence, simulator training hub, one-stop MRO center for drones and proposed development of seaplane manufacturing facility.

Meanwhile, the strategic collaboration signed between MAHB & ExecuJet Aviation Groupwill see Dassault Aviation investing up to RM100 million through ExecuJet MRO Services Malaysia (ExecuJet) to set up a new MRO as aone-stop centre for business jets will carry out line and heavy maintenance andinterior refurbishment.

Other highlights throughout the SAS2021 include numerous talks on the industry’s hot topics and even an Edu-Open Day on 27 November for the NextGen visitors.A total of 102students from UniKL MIAT, Politeknik Banting,Management & Science University (MSU) and UniversitiPutra Malaysia (UPM) came and joined the sessions handled by WIAA.

The Networking Receptionson the 25thand 26thNovember 2021 werewell also attended by major players of the industry as well as MNCs, foreign embassies and high net worth businessmen with potential of considering BAGA services either for business operations or personal use.

Selangor Aviation Showwill have its second edition in2022in Subangfrom 8thto 10thof September 2022and is open for space booking through Invest Selangor’s dedicated aerospace division, Selangor Darul Ehsan Aerospace Industry Coordination Office (S-Daico).
